Leesa is an experienced executive who has worked in senior
roles in the public water and environment sectors for over 20 years, delivering
major infrastructure projects and regional development for the region.
Ms. Merrett said “I’m looking forward to working closely

economic opportunity and tourism attraction that this region has experienced. “
Leesa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in
community and stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, marketing,
business analysis, regional investment, development and leadership for the
region.
Over Leesa’s career she has established strong connections
across many sectors in the region and is an advocate for community, working
closely with a diverse range of stakeholders including cultural and
linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, neurodiverse people, First Nations
peoples, youth and industry sectors.
Leesa has a proven track record for delivering great
outcomes as part of major capital projects in her previous roles with Lower
Murray Water and Mallee Catchment Management Authority.
Leesa is a member of the SuniTAFE Board and Governance
Committee and a member of the Steering Committee of Cultivator Inc, a local
not-for-profit organisation that focusses on engaging and collaborating with
the community, particularly youth through various forms including large-scale
art installations, events, and workshops.
Leesa’s senior executive management experience combined with
her delivery of major infrastructure projects and regional development over the
past 20 years, together with her passion for helping organisations engage with
community will bring shared benefits and strong outcomes for our region.
Leesa holds tertiary qualifications in communications,
marketing, project management and business, and is an IAP2 accredited –
Advanced Engagement Practitioner.
